Invitation

The foundation of Ukrainian Molecular biological Society is planned in September, 2001.

The aim of Society is joining of efforts and establishment of contact for the elucidation of fundamental and applied problems in molecular biology, introduction of new technologies and modern methods and improvement of Ukrainian science. The organization of conferences is one of the forms of the Society's activities. This Conference would be held on the base of IMB&G in September, 2001. The aim of the Conference is acquainting with the main directions and achievements in young scientists of Ukraine and abroad investigations. The young scientists (before 35 years old), PhD students from Universities and scientific labs from Ukraine and abroad who work in the mentioned fields (see scientific program).

We believe that our Conference would be a good chance for the beginning scientists to present their achievements and elucidate friendly contacts with the scientists from Western Europe.

Patronage

The Conference is held under patronage of Scientific Council of IMB&G and Academician G. Kh. Matsuka.

Scientific Committee

The staff of the scientific committee will be replenished. We are open to meet all cooperation propositions.

Organising Committee

Scientific Programme

During three days of the Conference several plenary lectures on actual problems of modern genetics and molecular biology would be held, oral and poster presentations.

The preliminary session items would be the following:

molecular genetics and genetics of higher eukaryotes;   molecular biology biology, signaling pathways;   genetics of microorganisms, biotechnology and genetic engineering;   medical genetics and oncologenesis.

Conference materials

All the abstracts chosed by Scientific Committee would be included into Abstract Book. All the participants would obtain this this Book in the first day of the Conference. The presenting authors who have paid registration fees would obtain the materials by mail. The best presentation would be published in the "Biopolymers and Cell" scientific journal.

Awards

The author of the best oral presentation would obtain the ability to work in London University for 1 month. The second award — 500 UAH (Ukrainian Hrivnyas; 100 UAH is about 18 USD), third — 300 UAH and three awards 100 UAH each. For stand presentation: first award is 150 UAH, second — 100 UAH, third — 50 UAH.

Language

Оhe official languages would be Ukrainian & English for oral (in exclusive cases the oral presentations of outstanding scientific interest according to Scientific Committee opinion may be presented in Russian) and poster presentations and preferentially English for abstract as the posting of materials to leading world scientific centers is planned.

Social Programme

The social program includes:

welcoming party and dancing;   tour of the Kyiv city;   visit to Kiev opera house or pleasure boat trip.

Registration

For preliminary registration one must fill the registration form. You can find it in the booklet or on this site (see registration page). The filled registration form with the thesises (see instruction for authors) must be sent via mail or e-mail (preferentially) before the 15th of June, 2001. After this you will receive the second registration form with detailed information and official invitation before the 15th of July, 2001.
